Final Refection

In my English class I have strengthened my knowledge and my abilities to write. Either to make an essay and then review it to see if the sentences has correct punctuation marks, now I can make it better. I also feel more confident every time I read or talk in English because of all the times my professor told me to. I really like this class, because I didn't feel pressured, probably it was because of the way my professor teaches. She have this particular way of speaking so funny and she is always looking for something that keep the student  focus on her class without getting bored.

Process Essay

How To Do A Soap

Ingredients:

  • Heat-resistant mold
  • Glycerin
  • Fragrance (extract or essential oil)
  • Colorant (optional)
  • Honey (optional)
  • liquid soap
  • Oil
  • Small scale
  • Something to stir the liquid glycerin
  • Spray with alcohol
  • Towel
  • Microwave
First, you're gonna fill the mold with water and put it in the scale, that way you're gonna know how much glycerin you will be needing. Then, grease the mold with oil, by putting a little in the towel and pass it across the mold. Put the amount of glycerin you need in another heat-resistant mold a melt it in the microwave. Wait a few minutes until the temperature decreases a little (if you don't wait, and add the ingredients like the fragrance it can evaporates).

Second pass the melted glycerin into the mold that you want the soap to have and add the fragrance you would like it to have.  Then add the colorant (which is optional, you can make a free-color soap) and finally you are going to add other additives like: liquid soap, honey, extract of vanilla, or something else you want to add.

*Hints*
  •  Try NOT to add to many liquid things because then soap wont have the desired consistency which is required for a soap.
  • The color, the fragrance, the shape and the extra additives of the soap can be related. For example, if you're going to do a rose-shaped soap, the color can be red, pink, yellow, or mixed and the odor of roses. If you want a soap that smells like coconut, besides the odor, it can have coconut extract.
  • When you add the color, you can mix them, form patterns with a toothpick, or let the drop fall and don't touch it.
In third place, when you're done adding the odor, fragrance, color, etc., you're going to spray alcohol at the bottom of the soap (which is the one upside), so any bubbles that may have formed due to the addition of ingredients, or by mixing them, will dissapear. Finally, let it dry at ambient temperature for at least an hour, depending on the size.

*Hints*
  • If you're gonna be doing a shape that required different color, you need to do the process twice or as needed.
